Emotional Support Animals
Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Medical Alert Dogs,
Assistance Dogs and the aforementioned in training are welcome to all areas of
the Picture House at all times.
We will only admit an emotional support animal
(ESA) to auditoria if we are able to safely accommodate it. This will usually be during screenings that
are not busy and where other customers are not allergy sufferers. If you would like to visit with an ESA,
please get in touch with us (info@campbeltownpicturehouse.co.uk) to enquire and
book your tickets in advance.
If you attend the cinema with an ESA we ask
that you adhere to the following requirements, to ensure that the experience of
other customers isn’t negatively impacted.
You will be asked to leave if you do not comply to the following;
• The ESA must be under control at all times
i.e., on a lead/in a travel basket, etc. They must not be placed or allowed to
sit on cinema seats.
• They must remain quiet and close to the owner at all times.
• Animals must not relieve themselves anywhere within the venue.
• They should avoid physical contact with staff or other customers.
• They should not come into contact with food or beverages on sale in the venue
and treats brought in for the animal should not have a strong odour that may
disturb others.
• Staff may ask the customer and animal to leave at any time if it breaches the
requirements above, or if the welfare of the animal is deemed at risk.
• We reserve the right to assess requests and refuse ESAs for any reason.
It should be noted that, in general, a cinema environment is not suitable for animals that have not been specifically trained for it in the way that Medical Assistance Dogs are. Our speakers output loud and high-pitched sound which animals can find harmful or distressing and the visuals often feature flashing lights which can likewise cause distress to animals. We ask that owners wishing to designate their pet an ESA without the necessary professional training think carefully about if a cinema environment is the best thing for their animal.
